I read recently that the best way to get rid of one of those bloody annoying songs in your head (called a "brainworm") is to hum/think either the theme from "Gilligan's Island" or the Monkee's "Daydream Believer."
I couldn't remember how "Daydream Believer" goes and instead replaced it with "I'm a Believer." It really did work. I had to do this just last night, because a friend was playing a 70's radio station and I got "Reunited" by Peaches and Herb stuck in my head for about an hour. I thought I'd go mad.
Our group seems to have found the perfect answer to this sort of problem.
Start listening to Guns N Roses "Welcome To The Jungle". It has the strange property of being able to remove any other song from your mind, yet it is not catchy enough to get stuck itself.
