andrewduckerHugh (brother and GM) complained that my song was about Crab, while I was playing a Scorpion, so here's one of a different structure about how the Scorpion Clan get their way.
Song of the Scorpion
(Or: Last year at the Unicorn trade negotiations)
On Monday morning , it was said,
the Daimyo looked unwell.
The doctors were all summoned
but none of them could tell.
What ailed him was a mystery
and nobody was sure
if it was down to dogy tea
or something far less pure.
On Tuesday the Daimyo's ill health
seemed to increase it's pace
As was at stake all his clan's wealth
his Cairo took his place.
He fared badly in negotiation
fraying as the day went on
He caused quite a commotion
by favouring the scorpion.
On Wednesday, with the talks ending
the courtiers rode away
Angry words echoing
of how we'd rue this day
The daimyo soon was better
but he was feeling riled
he swore out a vendetta
the Scorpion just smiled
