Not too bothered about losing the Scouring, but...

Date: 2003-11-17 01:39 am (UTC)OK, OK it's all meant to be a myth, like the great Anglo Saxon/Norse sagas, but Prof T was wearing ihis heart WAY too much on his sleeve with the Scouring, and it doesn't quite fit with the rest somehow. It's the most 'contemporary' part of the story (for the time it was written) and thus the most implausible. 'Dated' isn't the word. You can accept the heroic antics of the rest of the story as it is so removed form 'real life' but the Scouring just feels wrong, like it doesn't belong.
