Anyone got any decent suggestions for _unbiased_ overviews of the Israel/Palestinian situation. Writeups which blame either side exclusively _not_ welcome...

I started (admittedly didn't finish -- it's good, but VERY information-dense!) a book called Righteous Victims: A History of the Zionist Arab Conflict, 1881-2001 by Benny Morris. I'd say it's both understanding of the motives, and critical of the actions, of both sides.

Also, there's an organization called the Search For Common Ground which specializes in covering and trying to deal with areas of conflict around the world, such as in Northern Ireland. They have a newsletter on the Middle East with articles from the more rational thinkers on both sides of the Israel/Palestinian conflict. Their website is kind of a mess; I'd recommend signing up for the email version.
