"Autism with profound [other thing]" sounds like an excellent phrasing.

My own feeling on things is that at some point "autism" will end up being split into multiple different syndromes, with different recognised causes and diagnoses, and a lot of the arguing over this will just go away.

Oddly, I just spoke to a recruiter about 2 jobs, one of which was software for drones, including military ones. So at least that's an expanding industry!!
