Betting that we'll see the same for Canada and the States (and elsewhere)...and apparently, there are rules in Canada about such for now:

I remember doing those. First when I left university and later when I was trying to change jobs.

Never got further than the quiz.

Many problems with them, including that they favour people who bring a "guess the desired answer" attitude to the quiz. People who dislike lying are at an immediate disadvantage.

6 years ago, when I applied for my current job (employed by $bank, where before that I'd been employed by $consultingCo - but still working at $bank), I had to do two tests - one was basically IQ (called "cognitive reasoning" or similar), and the other was "leadership something something", but basically one of those personality tests. I did quite well at the IQ one, and basically came up as The Anti-Leader on the personality one - fortunately, they gave me the job anyway :D

(and I'm currently waiting for the outcome of my neurospiciness assessment, but I'm expecting to come out "autistic as heck" ... will know in a few weeks ...)

What sort of questions?

I'm absolutely hopeless at Meyers-Briggs type questions. I find them literally unanswerable.

I "failed" one of those at an interview for a research position at a large company after my PhD. The guy I might have worked for apologised.
Fortunately I didn't fancy the job any way.

I don't know what these types of tests even are... I guess I've been lucky? I don't think they even try to ask high level Software Devs this sort of thing? (Lol)
