With no ability to focus on anything I haven't watched before with a plot I've been watching people watch old favourites.

And I have to say that for a 30-year-old movie from the dawn of the CGI age Jurassic Park really really holds up well.

Something that struck me about it when I rewatched it a while back: its pacing is quite different from more recent movies, it starts off fairly low-key and steadily ramps up the excitement. No pre-title hook.

I don't think you see the dinosaur in the opening scene, just the uh consequences of it.

(Back when Jurassic World 2 came out, I re-watched Jurassic Park one day, watched the Lego Jurassic World short film and then actual JW for the first time the next day, and and then went to the cinema with [personal profile] fanf to see JW2. This was an error because I hit my "people eaten by dinosaurs" limit fairly early in JW2. Should have spread the horror out a bit.)

Also I can recommend Assets Out of Containment, a 60k fanfic with the Winter Soldier at Jurassic World. If you think you might enjoy that kind of thing.
