Date: 2024-11-09 12:26 pm (UTC)I didn't know about refusal to observe the minute of silence for Valencia, and that's obnoxious, but it doesn't seem to be in play about the attacks. It all seems to be about Gaza.
There was non-violent harassment by Israelis-- cheering a Palestinian flag (banner?) being taken down, and insults.
What I've got is mainstream Israeli, American, and British news sources.
Israel started with offering military planes, but settled on evacuating by using El Al.
10 people were injured. I think they were mostly fans, but one of them might have been a team member. 5 were hospitalized, but I don't think the injures were serious.
There were Jews concerned about whether it was safe to take a taxi, but I'm not sure whether that was reasonable.
Two people were out of contact, but I think they've been found. Part of the attack was stealing cell phones.
Most of the articles I've seen mentioned the numbers for 10/7 and those killed in Gaza. It was a relief to see one that didn't.
There's been a lot of talk of pogroms and Kristellnacht. The Dutch government has been very apologetic.
I don't have details about the police standing back, but I hope to get them.

Date: 2024-11-09 12:34 pm (UTC)But the whole thing feels out of proportion to me - a bunch of football supporters being idiots and triggering a violent response does not a pogrom make.

Date: 2024-11-09 12:57 pm (UTC)I don't know what typical soccer riots look like. I was assuming more vandalism and more-or-less equal fighting, not people being kicked when they're on the ground.
Also, neither of the teams were from an Arab country. I thought typical soccer riots were supporters of the teams getting violent against each other.
I agree that it wasn't a pogrom. On the other hand, if something like that happened where I live, I wouldn't be feeling secure in my neighborhood.

Date: 2024-11-09 05:41 pm (UTC)Given how many Israelis are on National Service at any one time, I would have been surprised if that wasn't so.

Date: 2024-11-09 06:47 pm (UTC)Update: I've added a line to clarify that while the patents above appear to have been registered this year, they are based on older patents that pre-date Palworld's early access launch.
Until the US came into line with the rest of the world (in my working life) you could file until a year after you published ...
Out of jurisdiction here, but in the EU officially you can't patent software (not that the Patent Offices follow the rules).
