So you're saying that without the perception of a God, people aren't moral? Or you're saying that if God took a vacation, the world would be screwed?

The comic seems based on a flawed assumption of the way people who believe in God think. So it came off to me as neither funny nor accurate.

Perhaps, but in prescriptive religious systems like the middle eastern monotheist faiths, the threat of punishment for improper behavior is ever-present. Remove that threat and the dynamics of the religion change, which might also change believer's morality.

I believe in gods (or more accurately, I've met a few so I accept their existence) but see do not see them as being involved in an unending cycle of judgment, retribution, and forgiveness.
