Always nice to be in a position to ignore the IMF /s I see their advice hasn't changed much in 20 years though.

This is not to say that the chap is wrong about climate change and turbulence generally, but this particular case happened at the end of the normal pre-monsoon cyclone season in the Bay of Bengal, which is globally notorious for turbulence anyway. A cyclone has been forming there all week and is expected to make landfall in West Bengal/Bangladesh at some time tomorrow (Sunday 26 May 2024).
