I was actually faintly disappointed by #3, because although it was saying interesting things about the etymology of "the more foo, the more bar" expressions in general, I had hoped for something specific to that phrase, such as a piece of military history in which large enemies were actually more easily defeated!

5. I pretty much eat in a 12 hour window or less. My blood sugar control is surprisingly improved in the past few years, my energy level is pretty low, my mood *might* be improved, but it isn't good, and my appetite has dropped, but that seems to be a normal effect of aging. My weight is pretty much the same, or up a little.

There's some reason to think that having the eating window mostly during the day works better than having it at night.

I gather that it was difficult for the Transit app (which provides information on hundreds of transit systems worldwide) to provide both real-time data and, when that wasn't available, show scheduled times, making it clear which was which. But they always provided the real-time information when they had it. The really useful update, a couple of years ago, was when they got the MBTA (and probably other systems) to tell them in real time if individual trips had been cancelled (usually for lack of available drivers). But they always provided the real-time data when possible.

I live near the end of two light rail lines and at least one relevant bus, so there's a real chance that the next train or bus in the direction I want to travel hasn't left the station when I'm ready to leave my house. "The next inbound train is scheduled to reach your stop in 12 minutes, the following train is due in 25" means something different there than if I was further from the terminus. But showing only the scheduled departures would be much less useful.

So, not just incomplete, but worse than it was a few months ago? Ugh.

It's at least worth an experiment.

Interestingly, I am never much interested in eating in the evening. If I eat after 5pm, it is purely social or due to something that made it impossibnle to eat earlier.

I have no energy issues, my weight is generally stable (though I lost 3kg in 5 days when I had covid that I never got back) and I have never been overweight. My mood is not often fabulous, but only circumstantially grim, so I can't say there.

if there is a working app, I wonder if it could be somehow screencast to the terminals. If only they were giant phones, eh? .... I guess not thought of as an optopna so not possible.

It's arguably true for tackling in rugby depending on your technique. If you get low (as you ought) and get the timing right so you take the ball-carrier's legs from underneath them a larger, taller ball-carrier is going to hit the ground harder.

5) Very interesting, thanks! This isn't something I can always do with my work hours + commute but I feel better when I eat way earlier in the evening. I sleep better too. I'm also having more nutritious breakfasts when I can right now to see if it makes a difference.
