I wanted to like #2 but I can't. It repeats too often before varying. But I found the same with lots of dance music (which I also generally don't like for the same reason).

Sounds like prog might be more your thing.

Oddly, not so much, though many of my musical friends are big fans. Some is ok. I like structure. I like coherence. I don't like songs that sound like 5 different song ideas rammed into one another. I like 4/4, stuff in 4-8-12 bar blocks. Perfect prosody. Probably a decent swing to the rhythm. "I know what I like" lol.
