7. If sport had remained inclusive these attacks simply wouldn't work.

When they'll get it through their heads that there is actually quite the opposite of 'advantage' is beyond me.

7. Ridiculous that she gets this shit, great that she seems to be dealing with it pretty well. P.S. her physique looks bang on typical for the sport she does. She is in no way extreme (except in being dedicated enough to train and compete!).

7) She's not a sportswoman, but I have a cis woman friend who's six feet tall and muscular. The existence of cis women like her and Laura the powerlifter from the article ought to make a space for trans women of similar physiques to exist without being considered freakish: unfortunately it seems to be becoming the other way around.

It is so frustrating! Because I'm just 5'6" no one says a dicky bird. It's all about assumption.

It's so sad that the existence of the vast variety of human shapes and sizes hasn't wiped these assumptions right out!

(3) This is why you must never, ever disclose a mental heath history or neurodivergence to your employer - unless they caused the former and you're seeking a career-terminating compensation package, or there is a complete *certainty* that they will make allowances for the latter without sidelining you from all future career progress, and not paint a target on your back for the next round of redundancies.

Outstanding performance, 'essential' status, and value to the organisation make no difference to such decisions.

If there is any good reason for employers to hold this information on you, the bad reasons massively outweigh it.

A health record, especially a mental health record, is far more damaging to you than a criminal record, and you should weigh the risks accordingly.

A reasonable suggestion, but usually impractical since they almost always require it as a condition of giving you the job.

Plus you can't have "reasonable adjustments" without making a disclosure.

Yes, I was going to say that the argument doesn’t hold if you can’t actually do the job without the reasonable adjustments.
