Date: 2023-04-08 08:01 am (UTC)...And the corrupt and inept regime in Brexitstan lacks the administrative capacity to do so: so the UK is forced, by necessity, to simply wave everything through.
The other elephant is that small to medium-sized EU exporters, who are deterred by the administrative burden of exporting to Brexitstan (and by the rates hauliers have to charge, to offset the risk of being caught in a three-day queue on the M2 to Dover), have the easy option of developing new customers and markets within the entirety of the borderless EU.
The tldr version: a return to the pre-Single-Market barriers of European Borders is a massive impediment to Britain's importers and exporters: but EU-based entities exporting to Britain will suffer far less than their British counterparts.
