(Perhaps on this occasion I don't need to cite the link number I'm commenting on :-)

My first thought in this case on relevant differences between mice and humans is that mice don't often deliberately blow their noses!

Seems of limited use if it's only effective a few hours pre or post COVID exposure

Depends how cheap they can make it.

If I squirt something up my nose before leaving the house in the morning and it means I can spend the day in a crowded space risk free, then that's still useful.

But it'll need to be pretty darn cheap to use on an ongoing basis like that
