This evening, after dinner, Sophia and Gideon played together in their
room with only minimal intervention, and are currently sharing some
raspberries and blueberries together in a very reasonable way.
This feels very weird. It wasn't very long ago that he basically ignored her, and now they play little games together and have little conversations.
And while we're not claiming responsibility for them being good kids,
we clearly haven't broken them too badly.

Date: 2023-03-22 04:31 am (UTC)My mother was an only child and NEVER understood why my sister and I didn't really hang out together after the age of about 5, maybe younger. She had wanted a sibling so much and thought we'd automatically be friends.
(Though later, Gils and I at uni were actually a bit closer and ongoing we've found that we are much more similar to each other than to the rest of the world ... Which leads to a decent relationship when we do interact - not often, but I am like that with the rest of the family too)
