3. Stanley become a French national because of BREXIT.

That doesn't stop him from being British (which iirc affects what a knighthood does) but it does call into question whether he intends to serve this country.

You are correct. If you are not a Brit you can be given an honorary knighthood- Bob Geldof for example.

Stanley will have become a dual national in the way I might have done (and regret not doing given Brexit) if I'd stayed in Belgium for six months longer back in the day.
