1) I read a book about this. It was a pure business story, all about licensing and marketing, and rather boring for someone who likes to play Tetris. With the sole exception of a bit about showing the game to one software marketing CEO and having to pry him away from the computer six hours later. It looks like the movie has to juice it up quite a bit to make a filmable story out of it.

2) I know something about the history of the Soviet Union, but this was just baffling.
