Date: 2022-10-16 01:14 pm (UTC)I really really wanted to do ballet as a child. I mean from 4 or 5 til about 9, then I tried gymnastics, then found martial arts.
I never did ballet as I wanted to do PROPER formal classical ballet training and our only local teacher refused to teach that to youngsters. Of course she was right, it's dreadful for your joints (for most people, over time), as is gymnastics. We used to get a lot of ex-gymnasts into karate when they got to about 16 and gave it up, but they rarely lasted 2 years before the accumulated injuries caught up with them.
I'm assuming Babyballet is the kind of safer option that the teacher of my youth favoured!:-)
