On China, I am quite worried about the retaliation. If, for instance, they blocked export of electronics, much of the West's economy would be badly fucked up.

WoW! They can do more and do more colors, just rarely and so few people record them. One night when I was much younger in the winter on the farm in North Dakota, there was a huge cascade of multi-colored aurora borealis. I have never even seen a picture close the brief glimpse I caught of it. Once in a while, a vortex would open overhead and pale green streamers would dance around the opening. I live only a few hundred miles south now, but between the city lights and that additional southern space, they're never visible.
