1. My main boss told me today that she has the long covid. She is hooked up with a clinic for same but explained it to me both for my support and to explain why she is so seldom physically present in the office.

Being a reluctantly-admitted disabled person myself, I was struck most by her confession that she is struggling with her identity and hopes to heal back to "normal." As I know it is pointless to explain there is no such possibility (or that it is very unlikely) I merely agreed that identity is tricky when you're ill.

It is. Many people only seem to suffer with long Covid for a few months or a year, but some definitely seem to have been permanently impaired.
