This is my view as I eat Chinese leftovers. Gideon is having a good day. (Although he won't eat it out of his own bowl for some reason)

If it is in your bowl, it is food. Gideon is learning like a baby orangutan.

Both my children as babies were keen on the "whatever my adults are eating" approach to having food. Older grew much pickier as he grew up; younger is still generally happy to eat whatever we're eating.

my rabbit Sasha does the same thing to her brother Herschel.. she refuses any treat that my husband gives her but steals said treat from her brothers mouth.. i think she's just bait shy.

is Gideon part rabbit?

if he does a lot of bouncing (for no reason) likes to run thru the house while flinging paper that he found, or shoves you while grunting –– i would VERY much suspect that he has bunny in his family tree. <3

This is a very cat approach to food (except the spoon).
