Date: 2021-04-25 05:08 am (UTC)You need to be moving tens of thousands of tons hundreds of metres to get a useful amount of energy. Dinorwig uses a lake with 9 million tons of water in it, and a 500m drop.
I'm sceptical that they can scale up to anything like the levels they need to to be useful.
