(Which, apparently, she picked up at nursery from the carers, and uses on the other kids.)

Oh, my. I've used similar phrases to my students So - Many - Times! Now I wonder how many of them took it home. OTOH, I certainly don't want to tell a child, "That's wrong." "You're getting closer; try again," is (I feel) more encouraging.
