From my PoV, he's one of the less stupid & creepy members of the LessWrong cult, but he is also very much a member of the LessWrong Cult, and as such at least holds the door open for white supremacists and fascists, and also periodically defends astonishingly terrible &/or stupid ideas, largely because they are LessWrong cult dogma. I found Elizabeth Sandifer's critique of the entire movement (in Neoreaction a Basilisk) well worth reading, and I agree 100%.

Obesity genetics

I'd be interested to know the ages of the research subjects, too, and how it interacted with their genetic situation. Young obese people can get away with a lot, but unfortunately the negative health effects do catch up with most people as they age.

Oh yes, definitely. And if a lot of the issues caused by obesity are inflammation related, then they need to take account of age causing a lot of that too.
