Reminds me that in the US you're advised to alert your credit card issuer when you're traveling overseas, and where you're going, so that they'll know not to block your charges. I told them I was going to the UK. I drove through the Dartford Crossing. The Dartford Crossing, as you know, is in England. The company that charges the toll on the Dartford Crossing, however, is in the Republic of Ireland. I wasn't going to Ireland. My credit card blocked the charge.

Since it was me paying for a pre-support for what became the 2014 Worldcon, it was perfectly legitimate as a "card present" transaction that was processed by an organization in England...who, like me, was visiting Chicago at the time.
