I would be much more interested to see the number of people in Israel being infected in the week before the second Pfizer shot. That would give us a check on the JCVI’s extrapolation from the raw trial data of 89% efficacy between 15 and 21 days after receiving the first shot.

But that’s the general population, not the small subset that had one shot of the Pfizer vaccine between 2 and 3 weeks previously.

Or null-null as they call non-alcoholic beer in Germany is big at least in my rural corner. We sell (... in non-rona years) about equal volumes in our little park café. People are good at not drinking and driving, and mostly stick with beer if that's their drink.

(This is very different to my experience in England... (I didn't notice in Scotland but I imagine it's much the same...))

Same in Berlin. People often drink it to space out real beer, or just when they prefer not to be drinking alcohol. Seems the same up in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern where I've had a boat for a few years and now live. I don't drink alcohol,so it's great for me to find something everywhere I go and not be treated like a weirdo.

I think my generation (I'm Scottish and 50 this year) were very educated when young not to drink and drive, and generally don't. Those even 5 years older seemed more prone to - and I was really shocked that the younger generations don't seem to me to have the same taboo against drink driving as those in my age group!
