Date: 2021-01-02 05:06 pm (UTC)Is there something similar in the UK/Scotland or is it all state run? On the one hand I do think there should be regional/distributed, but it seems a bit odd for people who live in the Capitol itself to have to go elsewhere.
I live in our state capitol and we have about 4 or 5 hospitals and each one, I'm sure has their own clinics. Would these be for a state of the art advanced optho clinic? I'm having trouble trying to understand why this is even a question or why you can't have both? (Taxes/distribution of resources, obviously).
It looks like Livingston is 58k people, and Edinburgh is half a million. Surely they're planning on opening a lot of regional centers then? Including a smaller one in Edingburg? I can't imagine forcing everyone to these small clinics in these smaller cities.
I can see a purpose for driving traffic to smaller locations to help these smaller places economically (I can't imagine Edingburgh is hurting for cash compared to a little village or whatever). And it might save on gas in terms of people not having to drive to the capitol. IDK what the distances are, that's the other thing. I drive 3 hours to my parents, it's about a 4-6 hour drive from East to West across the state. What's Scotland like?
