"South Ayrshire Golf club owner"? I thought his golf club was near Aberdeen. Or was that another one?

The one he built is near Aberdeen but he also bought Turnberry in South Ayrshire.

I've had decorators complain about F&B paints, and honestly, I think it's because they're trying to use it like regular paint. It spreads differently. Dulux feels like gooey plastic that you're dragging across a surface. F&B is liquid that you're trying to get to seep in.
On lining paper, two coats is perfectly adequate. One will do at a push if you take your time and make sure you really get it around. That might be part of it too, that decorators expect to slap it on quickly.

Farrow & Ball is the one with the hideous grungy colours, right? I suppose well suited to a Cool Maritime climate....

The popular paint companies in Asia are Jotun or Nippon. Next time I paint my house I want to look for Lotusan.

'Liberal' and 'conservative' in the US should be considered terms of art, since they mean nothing like what they mean anywhere else in the world...

Wow. Jotun is my fave boat paint but I could only get it in the UK and the co said they cant ship to Germany because of "safety regulations". I never knew it came from Asia.

They're Norwegian, I think, as the name would indicate! But they're quite well known in Asia. Crown and Dulux too, but I think Nippon is the market leader. Japanese products aren't the cheapest, but they're the quality benchmark.

Right. That's more what I thought! Still wish I could work out how to get some Jotun here....
