My answer probably should be the second one (no no no!) but I'm not a big horror fan anyway. Now that I have kids, and even before COVID-19, I have even less taste for near-future apocalypse tales.

I never watch things (seriously, I've almost got an aversion to watching things), but the book is an old friend to me, and I'm interested to see how this adaptation differs from the 1994 version, so I will probably watch this. It's like fanfic, and I do like to see different takes on characters I'm attached to.

I wouldn't be watching it in any case, so unless my friends go into a fannish frenzy I probably won't have any emotions about it.

Either Firefox or DW is a bit broke, as the video in my friends list is different to the (correct one) here in the comments! I was confused, and decided you were being a bit ironic. The wrong video was of a NZ leaders' debate... :)

Heard of this a while ago, and think it was originally meant to come out earlier this year. I'm actually interested to see how much they deal with the plague itself and if they've edited that part of the story down. The trailer implies it's more focused on the second half of the book, but trailers always lie.

Misery too (and I've just realised that all these are about 30 years old now!)

Huh. Funnily enough I forgot the plague, it felt like it was all about the after, so it didn't feel especially connected to the pandemic.

I thought you were going to mean "do we need more remakes?" and I was going to say, I thought there were too many of them but they were often done well.

I think I'm tired of the continuous remining of the 80's and 90's. Surely there is something recent that someone younger than me loves and would be delighted to see it introduced to a wider world?
