The German nudist was amused enough to allow the pics to be published which puts him up in my estimation! :o)

2. Well, that's encouraging news! Especially in this time and place.

3. Disturbing. And I wonder if it's not another motive for Brexit: to safeguard such bad behaviour from the European Court of Human Rights.

4. Good!

5. Indigenous peoples across what we were taught to call the Americas have their own stories about those particular epigenetics, as we've been learning over the past few decades.

6. Interesting. I'll want to revisit this.

8. Terrifying and appalling. We've dragged our feet too long, and this is the latest acceleration of the consequences.

Epigenetics

Given the history of conflicts everywhere in the world in the 20th century (two World Wars and innumerable smaller local conflicts - the Cold War was pretty hot for quite a lot of countries), I'd think that the vast majority of people in the world right now would have a traumatised direct ascendant, whether parent, grandparent or further back. Certainly every Southeast Asian would have an ascendant who survived the Japanese Occupation and the subsequent regional wars, whether as a civilian or as an armed combatant.

And seeing as the rest of human history was rather awful too (I would never take my time-machine back to any historical period, I'd go to Gondwanaland), this epigenetic thing affects almost everyone. That would explain a lot.

Ha. For once, a genuinely universal part of the human condition, not another attempt to claim that a culturally-specific behaviour has to apply to everyone else.
