"Women with autism have a harder time maintaining employment than men- it is not yet clear why." Being an employed autistic woman, I'm pretty sure it is baseline expectations of social skills in women being higher... with a side order of 'jobs that typically accept autistic workers, like software development, employ a lower percentage of women in general' (probably due to social discouragement in education but that is something nobody really knows right now as attempts to fix this haven't paid off very well).
