Date: 2020-01-10 05:03 pm (UTC)Lots of clubs have some sort of contract about the amount of effort that the members put in. Either requirements to attend training or rehearsals, or formal assessments of ability such as trials or auditions.
And people make their decisions about becoming a member based on their desire to make the necessary committment or not.
But those are some pretty strict rules. I've been a member of a very well regarded sports club where the training requirements for being picked for any of the competative teams was pretty strict and if you didn't fancy that committment you played for the 4ths.
That was a club that regularly won the national championships and had several international players and the rules weren't as strict.
Also, I'm not sure that I would want to be a member of a club that thought it was okay to be that much of a dick about discipline.
