The rush to climb Uluru before the ban exposes a hollow centre

I went to Uluru when I was 9/10 years old, and they were asking people not to climb it even then.

I'm now 43.

I'd have been there about the same as you. Went when I was 11/12, am a couple of years older than you.

I don't recall a specific campaign about not climbing it but I do remember some general unease about whether climbing it was an okay thing.

And also the gradual renaming of the rock from Eyre's Rock to Uluru in general Australian parlance.

I would say that its positive effects on human children are as described by Alia Wong for the Atlantic and also, that those effect are not confined to the United States. CBC has maintained access for Canadian audiences across the decades, as well as funding programming of its own. We have not had homegrown programming of that strength, though, since Mr. Dressup and The Friendly Giant went off the TV airwaves.
