Date: 2019-10-03 03:28 pm (UTC)BS. You know which profession requires good reading skills? Lawyers - but female lawyers still make less than male ones, and they're still less likely to be partners.
You know which profession requires good - or at least decent - math and science skills? Medicine... and in places where medicine is female-dominated, like Russia, it pays a lot less than in places where it's male-dominated. (And female-dominated branches of medicine always pay less than male-dominated branches, despite requiring the same skills.)
If women are more likely to go into certain careers, and those careers tend to pay less, that still is not their fault for picking the wrong field or having good reading skills or whatever, because whatever field has more women will pay less. It's the freaking patriarchy.
