That BBC article about the Oregon State Senate is frustrating as hell, because it hardly touches on the main points of the story, as I understand it from having vaguely followed the story but not in much detail: (1) that the Republicans are in hock with far-right militia, and (2) Democrats have done this before, in Wisconsin and Texas. Why are Oregon Republicans different? Or are they not, and is fleeing the state to use mandatory quorum laws increasing a thing that State parties in the US do?
