I'm actually pretty bitter that "remain in the EU" is being described as an extreme position. Not just here. It's not remotely extreme. There is an extreme position, which is full on EU unification, which is not about to happen. Most remainers just want to stay in the EU with gradual alignment of systems and rules.

And before Cameron decided to stuff up the entire country on a whim, "remain in the EU with no further integration and perhaps some recognition of our quirky Britishness" - a position that would now be called "extreme" - was the most Eurosceptic any serious politician was prepared to admit to. It's been a shocking, shocking Overton window shift.
