Date: 2019-04-09 12:29 pm (UTC)But is it a "myth"? Or did the police actually used to routinely check on 999 hang-ups, just like everyone was told, until mobile phones made accidental calls more likely and didn't automatically give locations, and then it became impractical?
It might also be helpful if you could dial 999 and then hit 555 wihtout having to obviously listen for the right prompt, but but I know that would need the infrastructure to change.
