You know, the person who noticed Gaiman's credentials could have just asked for an explanation of the discrepancy, instead of accusing him of lying.

Regarding the lower sperm counts - presumably, there is a population (however small) of sperm producers with some degree of endocrine-disruptor-resistance, and to them will fall the task of repopulating the barren wasteland of the world after the population crash :)

PS I have a slight regret that I dithered a bit too long in becoming a sperm donor, so that even though I was 44 when I finally got around to asking about it, I would have been 45 after all the checks and tests were done, and thus ineligible. Surely having conceived healthy kids at age 40 & 43 should count for something ;-)
