:( Yeah, it's hard for me to see things in shades of grey. It makes sense that the status quo was... rather bad, but Trump was still able to massively worsen it :(

Ouch. Yeah, I'm not surprised this sort of thing happens all the time, but I'm surprised there's no-one who can sort it out and say, "yes, i'm in charge, over-ride the system and re-activate the accounts". I guess sometimes, you can but no-one does, and sometimes, there's a lot of indemnity tied up in following process and no-one dares deviate from it, and no-one wrote in sensible exceptions for when people could temporarily work round policy.
In a way, it's not *computers*, it's *systems*, including purely human-run ones, but computers enable much more complicated and opaque systems. Kafka was way ahead of his time :(
