The thing is, I can sort of see how "let's make a webpage" is superficially plausible for almost any problem, even if it's a bad idea. And during the internet bubble, it was easy to see "a website for X" taking off and not wanting to get left behind.

But you don't need to understand how bitcoin works to follow "it's a distributed database achieved via crypto magic" or notice that there is one 'blockchain' product, which, whatever your opinion of it, isn't owned by someone who can profit off it. So I don't know how people started jumping on the "X but with blockchain" thing.

If *every single question you ask* about the idea has the answer, "it's complicated, don't worry that it sounds like it makes no sense" and you still want to invest, how did you have any money left to invest in the first place..? :(
