The article on morphine is intereesting (and about something potentially important), but the title confused me. I'm used to the made-by-the-body opioids being called "endogenous," and then a distinction between "natural" (derived from poppies) and "synthetic" narcotics. In that terminology, morphine is considered "natural," by contrast to synthetic drugs like Fentanyl. (One difference is that at least some drug tests for narcotics in the bloodstream will find "natural" drugs like oxycodone, but not the synthetics.)

I don't think the guy who tweeted his (incorrect) preliminary results/charts about "young American men not having sex" understands how unhelpful it is to have bad data sets, invalid results, and badly-designed charts floating around being forwarded everywhere and fouling the dialogue around a given issue. It's hard enough to retract and correct peer-reviewed results! This is just stuff he pulled out of somewhere, apparently, with no review and no checking before publishing to Twitter (for maximum media attention and splash), particularly on a hot issue? Don't be this guy.

Pardon me, but I view with great skepticism statistics produced and distributed in this way. If he's really a demographer, he should know better.

Ah, takes me back to the sex education classes at my old school. There was a lot about STDs and not a lot else. In fact, maybe there was only a film about STDs, come to think of it.
