The EU hardening its negotiating position does not seem to be creating as much of a stir as I thought it would.

(Unless I've missed the stir.)

I agree.

I actually think it's genius for the EU to punt it back like this. The UK agreed that there would be a solution, they're screaming about the one that the EU has proposed. So, fine, make it the UK's problem to fix. That way the UK can't keep coming back to the EU and saying "Sorry, we can't accept this terrible proposal of yours."

And I think the odds are high that as soon as the UK government proposes something concrete then the UK government will discover that it can't accept its own terrible proposal.

Not sure where that leaves us. Crazy days. Buy tinned food and gold.

The first link caused me to misread the title of the sixth – my brain had the briefly confusing idea that "tribalism" was pronounced "tribbleism" and was a form of prejudice against small cute furry fast-multiplying animals :-)
