I went up to (almost) Dundee on Sunday to see Erin on her birthday, and go for a walk with a bunch of lovely friends who I don't see nearly often enough.

On the way back I got some gorgeous photos.

Bridge on the way there:

Walking the dogs on Tentsmuir Beach

Nice afternoon light on the fields on the way back

I went past a field with birds flocking over it. This doesn't get across the scale of loads of birds wheeling over it, but was the best I could get in the three seconds while the train was passing it:

It didn't start to be really beautiful until the sun was almost set, just as we arrived at North Queensferry

and it was just as pretty on the southern side of the Forth

and

And heres a video of it:

Then this gorgeous one of the fields on the outer approach to the city

Which continued until I was passing the airport

And finally, when I left Waverley Train Station I found this sight awaiting me on Princes Street

(That's the castle at the back/centre of the shot and the Scott Monument on the right. The glowing building on the left is historic Bank of Scotland building on The Mound.

Pretty!

And so that is the Firth of Forth. I love that name.
