So, judging from the sudden influx of people who have added me on DW in the last few days, I'd say that LJ deciding that anything LGBT-related is adults only has been yet another last-straw.

If you'd like to make some friends on DW then leave a comment saying something about yourself, so that you can tempt people to add you.

(It might also help to post your LJ name, if you have one, and it's different to your DW one, so that people who used to know you can find you...)

Hi, I am/was redbird on LiveJournal as well; I'm also "rosvicl" in some random places on the web, and if that looks familiar I'm almost certainly the same one.

So: these days I seem to be posting mostly about politics, and my otherwise quiet day-to-day life in a suburb of Boston. Expect more garden, plant, and bird posts as spring gets going more seriously. I do some freelance editorial work (editing and proofreading math and other nonfiction works).

Possibly relevant facts: I'm bi and poly (which is a large part of why I'm unhappy with the latest LiveJournal crap), and public about both of those under my wallet name as well as under this handle. There are a couple of cats around here, and a lot of books, though I'm not reading as much as I still think I ought to be.

About me: a science fiction fan and frequent traveler (currently based in Seattle after a long stint in the Boston area), I've been mistaken for a local fan in multiple cities I've never lived in and a visiting fan in the metro area I then lived in. At conventions I might be at panels, on panels, playing board games, giving or receiving massages, or hanging out in the bar until oh-dark-thirty talking about random stuff with people.

People upset at LJ's supposedly newfound censorship have forgotten that over a decade ago, before it went Russian even (I think), LJ banned "pornography", and defined it as including photos of babies nursing, even without any nipple showing. Scores of people changed their user pictures in protest.
