Back in March Nook shut itself down (in the UK) and transferred all of its book business to Sainsbury's ebook store.

And then Sainsbury announced that they would also be shutting down and handed off their business to Kobo.

Waterstones are out of the market, and Tesco likewise.

Which leaves Kobo and Google.

And Amazon, of course. But I would really like there to be a slightly competitive market, rather than Amazon owning it outright (currently it's around 75%, as far as I can tell).

In theory, ebooks should be the best thing ever. I'm sad it's not working out that way.

On the rare occasions that I use my nook for actual books rather than for pub quizzes, it's always free books from Gutenberg etc. Buying an actual e-book just feels like an odd idea.
