Slept in on Saturday until 10-ish, which was lovely, as I've not slept in for aaaaages.

Faffed about in the flat with a bit of tidying, and worked my way through about fifty emails of my ridiculous backlog. Then met up with Lizzie and her friend Rosie and went for a walk up Arthur's Seat, which I've not done in years. Rosie came most of the way up, and then abandoned us to head home down a side route. Lizzie and I then made it to the top, before taking the slow wander back down the road past the upper lake. I then fed her tea and chatted until 6-ish, before she headed off to do crafty things.

I then ate some dinner, got hit by a massive wave of tiredness, and crawled into bed at 8pm. Which is, frankly, unheard of. I woke up from 1am until 3am, and then briefly at 7am and 8:30am, before waking up fully around 10:30am.

And now I'm wondering if I'm ill, or I was just amazingly underslept. But I feel much more human now.

Acute stress = need for sleep goes WAY up above the usual 8-9 hours.

So, if I had to guess, I'd say you need lots of sleep to fully recover from the kitchen fire...

Sounds kind of ideal to me... I am perennially sleep-deprived during the working week these days :-p
