Re preparing for a first date: that's pretty accurate. You make sure it's a public place, and that you know how to get home from there easily, even if incapacitated, and you tell a trusted person where you are going and who with and what time you want them to check on you. That's just standard. The taking a photo of the guy and his reg plate is not a thing I've heard of before, but I sure as shit will be doing it to any lad who turns up in his own car to take my daughter out now I've seen the suggestion.

The one I'd like to get in the habit of: taking photo of children and what they're wearing before going somewhere crowded. A couple of times I lost under-five C in a shop and flailed trying to describe what he was wearing ...
