Date: 2015-10-27 01:29 pm (UTC)Because Mississippi did not adopt the Medicaid expansion portion of Obamacare, they really have been hurt by the legislation because a) they have seen no benefits from the legislation other than maybe options to purchase insurance on the exchange at full price and b) the escalating cost of prescription drug costs due to the fact that no one negotiated drug costs. My mom still lives in Mississippi and volunteers at a free clinic three days a week. The cost for the drugs that they provide to people who can't afford them has gone way up.
