Date: 2014-12-30 01:59 pm (UTC)My parents-in-law took an all inclusive holiday tour with excursions in the US and Canada, with the trip taking in some of the most breath-taking natural and wild locations in the North American continent.
The coach would drive to a location, people would jump out, take photos and then immediately return to sit in the coach waiting for it to go - like it was a tick box exercise: "I've been there and I have the photos to prove it!" Without any actual interest or appreciation for the places they had paid to visit. My parents-in-law are keen hikers (or, at least, were when then were younger). Requests to the rep to actually go and explore - and on foot - were met with frank bewilderment: why anyone would want to do such a thing? And when they did, it was met with impatience in case it held up the schedule.
These are the people (not my parents-in-law) and this is the attitude that produce these kinds of reviews for Arthur's Seat.
Holy shit, I despair for humanity some days.
